Meet Our Founder: Anjum Anwar

Having left Pakistan at a young age, Anjum Anwar went on to build a successful career in corporate America while never losing sight of the challenges faced by underprivileged communities back home. As her passion for philanthropy deepened, she felt compelled to take meaningful action—leading her to establish Helping Hearts, Caring Souls (HHCS), a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to humanitarian causes.

In 2015, during one of her visits to Pakistan, Ms. Anwar was introduced to ARPD (Association for the Rehabilitation of the Physically Disabled)—an organization with a long-standing history of serving individuals with disabilities, but had fallen into decline. Determined to revive its mission, she mobilized international support through HHCS and spearheaded a formal partnership with ARPD under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Through this agreement, HHCS became ARPD’s primary international fundraising partner.

Under Ms. Anwar’s visionary leadership, ARPD has since undergone a remarkable transformation—its infrastructure restored, programs expanded, and reach extended to some of Pakistan’s most marginalized populations. Her commitment continues to inspire change, promoting inclusion, dignity, and hope through every initiative.
